We must protect our property from damage by landslides and excess runoff. We must protect our quality of life. We must stop the senseless development of critical land now!

We are blessed to have this beautiful area. Please stop the development, there has been far too much already. Thank you.

Cougar Mountain is an amazing place that is one of the last places in this area where wildlife can exist. It has experienced intense development and needs some protection before the natural environment is completely destroyed.

The Bergsma property is located at the eastern end of the Precipice section of Cougar Mountain. The Precipice has some of the wildest and steepest terrain in Puget Sound. It also contains one of the last remaining virgin forests in Puget Sound. The Bergsma property is already traversed by some beautifully constructed, well graded, and easy to access hiking trails (Precipice Bottom and Skid Row trails). This area also represents a beautiful green backdrop for the City of Issaquah and the I-90 corridor.

Growth is inevitable, but let's be smart about it. The decisions we make now will last for generations. Let's preserve the beauty and character of our corner of the world, even if it costs a little more.

Please help save the Bergsma/Windward woodlands. Issaquah needs to protect the remaining forest, to protect wildlife and streams and to preserve the beauty that makes Issaquah such a special place to live.

Let me know what I can do to help. Breaks my heart to hear we may be losing more wooded areas to contractors. Save Cougar Mountain.

Protecting this property from development will help to retain the special charm of our Issaquah Alps.
