In a TV landscape full of shows which pander to the lowest common denominator, it is so refreshing to see a series which treats its audience as adults with above average intelligence. Constantine is a rare show which does not lay every detail out for the audience, or explain every single reference. The writers treat viewers with respect, rather than patronizing viewers. The stories are not evenly paced and are not fully explained; but that mirrors the world in which Constantine is set. How better to immerse the audience in the a world of obscurity than to veil the audience in mystery. The biggest challenge that Constantine faces is its time slot. This timeslot is not for young active mindes (who have plans on late Friday evenings), but rather it's a slot for people tired from the week who would rather be talked at than actively think. If this show were to move to another day (Wednesday or Thursday) at a 9:00 slot (as Lost was scheduled), I would argue that the ratings would increase significantly. Hopefully, this petition will alert the network to give this show a fighting chance. The writing and acting are superb, now if it could only get a time slot which is deserving of the talent.
