Independence is a great school and a great asset for the community. Taking this scholl away from the community will scatter neighborhood kids all over Columbus. This community deserves a local school that they can show their pride in. .

Graduate of 1986. I went to independence all 4 years of high school and would not trade it for anything. I had a great time and received a great education from this school. It will be a huge loss for the community.

As an alumni of both Independence (87) and Maybury as well as Walnut Heights. My father still lives in the heights. Closing both schools in once community would not only devastate the children but it would also devastate the home equity of the whole community.
