Colliery Dams is our heritage. Number one reason for wanting to save our dams is for our future generations to come. The Colliery Dams Park Preservation Society is a group of concerned citizens who wish to keep the park and its lakes intact, while ensuring public safety. Nanaimo City Council are wanting them to be removed. There are no real concrete plans. However; "Colliery Dams" is concrete. It'll sustain the so called "earthquake". City Council wants to put a scare tactic in place to concerned citizens. I am not sure I could sleep if I were on the Nanaimo City Council. "Save our Colliery Dams!" Today; tomorrow may be too late.
