The rugby program is where I found a home at Colby. It was this program that defined my Colby experience. What I learned on the rugby pitch from my teammates and coaches were lessons in teamwork and resilience much more directly applicable to my daily professional life than anything I ever learned in the classroom.

It was a wonderful athletic and social opportunity, not easily replaced by other activities.

That awkward moment when Colby realizes it tried to take away a club from the most passionate and motivated students/alumni ever.

Rugby is why I loved Colby

I played rugby for UMaine against Colby. I loved the intercollegiate opportunity. Without a Colby team, the state of Maine would lack opponents to have any fun.

Colby Rugby was why I love Colby. Without Colby, I will not be supporting the school.

I'm applying to Colby College and I was really looking forward to playing for Colby's rugby club team. Rugby is a game with many strong values that carry through life. Not only is it a great opportunity for students to try new things but to us it is also just as important as any other varsity sport! Thank you!

If the College is so worried about collision sports then what are their plans re. ice hockey and football? Also, what about soccer and men's lacrosse. Both sports also involve collisions -- although not at the same degree.

What a shame! Keep this sport alive for all it's glory!

My 4 years at Colby would not have been the same without Colby Rugby. Through the team I learned invaluable leadership, teamwork, and compromise skills that i still draw upon in my professional world today. Furthermore, some of the most important friendships I developed at Colby were through Colby Rugby. It would be a shame for future generations of Colby students to miss out on such a wonderful opportunity!

I have many great memories as part of the Colby Ruggers. It would be a shame to see the club go.

Colby Rugby was an important part of my Colby experience. I made friends with a broad spectrum of the Colby student body. Rugby was great that way: it attracted students from every group and part of campus and brought them together! CWRFC must continue.

I have ver little affiliation with Colby rugby, but have only heard great things. It would be a shame for a rugby team to be removed.

If the problem is with high costs and the danger in high impact sports, I assume football and hockey are also being cut.

Colby Rugby taught me how to play as part of an effective team. It also taught me how and what it meant to be a leader. It taught me the value of relationships. Most importantly, it taught me to be a better human being. Long live CRFC!
