RUGBY is a sport that teaches people so much more than a set of skills. RUGBY teams are far more to each other than just those they defend on the field. Taking away this sport will take away a community.

My rugby playing and coaching experiencing at Colby - I had the privilege of coaching with the late Michael Weaver La Mountain - were unquestionably two highlights of my college career. Most of my friends were formed in and through the ruby community at Colby, and those connections endure today. Are all NESCAC schools getting rid of funding for their rugby clubs? This would seem to fly in the face of the broad, liberal arts education, which is the foundation on which Colby has always stood.

Rugby is an increadibly important sport especually to college age students. I was the capitan of my team at Guilford College for two years. Rugby develops a sense of comrodery and teamwork that you can not find anywhere else. In addition it is a space to express yourself free from socital pressures and is a great stress relief. It would be a tragidy to deny students of this amazing opportunity. Rugby is more than a sport it is a way of life
