I play rugby for another small school, Carleton College. I would be furious if Carleton destroyed our program, and I'm sure Colby players and alums feel the same way. Good luck saving the program.

My college rugby team received very little financial support from our school. We had to fundraise or come out of pocket, but we did it because we loved it! Stop with all the politics and just let the kids play!

What I've found is that despite it's reputation as a "high collision/impact sport" rugby has taught me how to keep myself safe.

We are adults and should be treated as such. Ruggers know the risks associated with our beautiful game, and still want to participate (because it's so damn great). If the administration claims this has to do with a "growing awareness of health and safety risks of a high collision/impact sport," are they also getting rid of the american football program?

Rugby saved my life in so many ways, it would be tragic if they denied any other future players of the sport that opportunity. Rugby is a wonderful game that teaches players so many more life skills, I think than any other sport, because it is so rough. My rugby team in a lot of aspects I'm closer with than my actual blood family. People who have never played it, don't understand why you would keep playing after a list of injuries that you have endured in your past. But that's okay. They don't need to understand. But they should allow others to be able to experience the joy that I feel every time I step onto that pitch. I don't know where I would be today without the sport of rugby. It's where i met my family. They have helped me grow in so many ways and I would be lost with out them and the love of the game. Please I encourage you to try to keep an open mind before you make such rash decisions without even experiencing the sport. People who aren't ruggers just don't understand. And its easy to judge the sport from the outside looking in. Thank you.
