The individual attention I received when I attended Coker Creek Elementary gave me the abilities to be successful in future endeavors. The loss of the school would be a tremendous blow to the community and future decisions of people to continue to live there.

I honestly think it would be a huge devistation to close Coker Creek Elementary. smaller schools like Coker Creek have a bigger impact on the children that attend those schools, more one on one, personal connections, the teachers are able to focus more on the kids and their education rather than trying to cram the lessons in with the time aloted

Please don't close a community school. It has proven to be successful for the students , scoring 4 out of 5. It should be about the children and their needs. It could be used as a model school so that others can learn how they are successful and take that knowledge back to their home schools and apply it yo their schools.

I am very upseI am very upset about what I've been hearing about closing our school. All three of my chidren Sonya, Will & Brice graduated that school, and as a matter of fact, so did I. And now my grandchildren are going there. The community and the parents have always donated either their time or money to help this school when it was in need, so it is not a burden to the county.. When my children moved on to TPHS, the valedictorian was always someone from Coker Creek. What does that say? I think it's probably just a miscalculations of where the funds for Monroe Co shools actually went, and now their answer to their problems is to close this school. That is just wrong. I think there should be a show and tell between the county school board and the community as to what caused this in the first place. It's not Coker Creek Schools fault. I honestly feel there should be an investigation myself. When my classmates and I started going to TPHS, the kids in Irosburg and Epperson had to board the bus at 5:30 in the morning just to get to school by 8am.But that was high scool kids. What about our little ones that would have to do that?? That little school has been a blessing to this community. Please don't let them close our school.

Coker Creek is a great school with amazing students and staff! The teachers that actually care about the students not numbers! I attended Coker Creek and I learned skills that helped me succeed in Highschool, College, and Grad School!

Taking away coker creek school would be one of the biggest mistakes monroe county will ever make. This is rediculas monroe county thinks this will save them money? where will these 120 children will go for education? tellico? rural vale? let me just say those two schools can not take on 120 students! they will be a lack of room and teachers! they will have to extend and hire new teachers! this is not the way to save money!

I trust that current elected school members are reviewing all of the opions to keeping the total school system is operated on a fair and equal basis. Are all options being discussed -- such as ' IS THE CURRENT TAX RATE' adequate to operate a school system on a county wide bases.
