As a parent of two children that went to Coker Creek and as a member of the Coker Creek Community we need to all come together and tell the decision makers for the education of the children that do live in our community they need to look at the facts. 1 - smaller class sizes in elementary school give children the foundation they will carry with them to high school and beyond. 2 - Teaching young children about community will make and retain good productive citizens after school. 3- I understand that money is an issue yet every child in Monroe County deserves the best education possible all of the children from school to school should be given the same resources to achieve that, we voted for the people on the Monroe County Board of Education and they need to listen to what we the citizens of the county think when it comes to our kids, when looking at the budget maybe they should start with things that could be cut starting at the top in the Central Office instead of our classrooms 4 - Sad as it is some of the children that go to the Coker Creek School need more than just a book they need the loving and caring staff at Coker Creek and if they would be moved to a different school with larger classroom sizes they would not have that.
WE need to stand behind the staff at OUR school and SPEAK OUT TO THE ONES WE VOTED FOR.

We had some years at the school that the teacher had two separate classes in one room but we did have the best teachers aides for the lower grades and some wonderful teachers.

A wonderful school. I attended school there for 9 years. Then went to school at Tellico Plains I had to catch the bus at 6:15 AM during my high school years and if the young ones have to catch it that early they will very tired by the time they the long ride home
