Save CIS and City Year!

Please stop cutting much needed programs in our community!

These programs make a huge positive impact to the community and Neighborhood. It would be a shame that they will be removed. The benefit and wellbeing of the children should be the priority of any school district.

Please keep them they're really important for many families.

If Ms. Onelia leaves I am going to Miss her so much because she has helped other kids including my family in different ways , she has been a great impact in different families that need clothes, food , and family problems.

Desde que llegue a Tulsa ,la coordinadora de CIS me ha ayudado en todo lo que he necesitado ,desde ropa comida , uniformes ,asistencia legal y asistencia médica y educación para mi . No puedo pensar el no tener este programa el año próximo. Es una ayuda inmensa para mi familia .como inmigrante este programa es muy importante.

CIS es un programa que ayuda a muchas familias necesitadas y ofrece más oportunidades para los padres para mejorar su educación.Para mi la coordinadora de Sequoyah es una persona servicial y que se interesa en el bienestar de los estudiantes y familias Al quitar CIS la escuela quedara en el limbo .

CIS has all the necessary tools, resources, networks, and cultural competent staff to be there for schools and families' more important needs. Our schools need both, CIS and City Year to prepare the future of our city/country.

This community has needed and still needs CIS and CY!!

As a former employee of a mentorship/tutoring organization at Sequoyah Elementary, I saw first hand the benefits of CIS and CY. Children and families, regardless of if their academics and test scores reflected what TPS would consider “academic growth”, students knew they had a confidante and supportive adult in their lives in the professionals that work or volunteer for CIS and CY. These 2 groups support students and families in ways TPS is unable to because of funding and staffing issues beyond their control. It would be an absolute shame to lose these 2 groups of professionals that support Tulsa’s most vulnerable students. I’m 100% supportive of any measure to allow these 2 groups to remain a vital part of Kendall-Whittier neighborhood schools. It takes a village. Even though I’m no longer a personal contributor of the work in those schools, my heart will forever be supportive of anything positive for these incredible students. They deserve it and Tulsa ought to want to help these kids have role models to help them become better citizens that contribute to our society. Thank you for allowing me the space to let these needs to be heard. I wish you all the best.

CIS is a great blessing to all children of Sequoyah. Losing them will be detrimental not only to students but their families as well.

Due diligence is needed in this hardship. Communication with funding sources is paramount. Efforts for funding should be implemented for longer than 5 years at a time.
