Don't think a Shoppers Drug Mart would bother to keep the heritage if the building. It would be a shame to loose more history in Toronto.

Great store, awesome atmosphere, and a bookstore fits perfectly into the theatre setting. A Shoppers Drug Mart would not, and it would be a shame to lose this location.

Dear Councilor, I have been a resident in Bloor West Village for thirty years. Have enjoyed the great energy of community and diversity in this neighborhood. This community has the true essence of neighborhood in the way of cohesion and concern for what is happening with the spirit of the community. it is disturbing that changes as drastic to remove a community institution which has been not just a book store but a community centre for the vast majority of the community. There is so much in the way of out reach that has taken place in Chapters for the good of the community. Chapters has facilitated and generated financial support for schools so as they can host events such as sports, outdoor excursions that enhance the learning experience. Story telling for children to bring joy and mystery to their childhood. Chapters has been a safe haven for the homeless which find a sense of Peace in the encompassing serenity of the theatre. This intrusive move by business that seems to have only a focus on the financial aspect of business is unraveling the fabric of this community. This plac . I would want a bookstore over a drug store any day but this chapters in particular is special and way too good to lose! The building is amazing, a great location, and a real place for community.

It is the most beautiful chapters I have stepped foot in! It gives the whole atmosphere to this region. Don't take away litterature and memories ...to be replaced by high consumer innecesities.
