My son has been in year round school since Kindergarten. As a toddler during COVID, my youngest missed out on the daycare years. As a "quarantined" 3-4year old, he grew used to being with Mommy all day, everyday. Starting school was a DRASTIC change for him. When we started in July of 2022, my son was terrified, yet excited. At the end of the first 9 weeks however, he was very ready for his 1st mental reset. Because of the 3 week break he got to relax, show me what he learned, and return for the next quarter excited and eager to go back to his friends. It's unconventional, I know, but my NOW 3rd grader has never woke up crying because he didnt want to go to school. He's never come home completely defeated and worn out. We LOVE to short summer break. My son has time to refresh and relax, while still understanding what he learned the previous school year. As an educator myself (well before COVID and computers in classrooms) I notice the difference in the students at a year round school as well. I see the eagerness and willing to learn; that spark in a student that shines in a way that boldly states "I REMEMBERED!" I don't witness children getting burnt out easily. I am blessed to TA in a kindergarten classroom this year as well. These babies are READING, writing in complete sentences and SO ECSTATIC to show us what they have learned. They rush in after intersession lovingly, ready to learn again, with a relaxed and reset mindset. Year-Round schooling TRULY is remarkable; even more noticeably coming from a Mother's view with one in HS (traditional) currently and 3rd grader (year round) AND one who has been in the education field since late 2010. Changing the schedule now will 100% disrupt the education of our children. WE WANT the unconventional year-round schedule just as much as our babies NEED it. We stand together AS AN EDUCATIONAL FAMILY, begging the board to change their minds. Allow us to keep our schedule. Its so much more important than these comments w

I choose this school to start my son in due to his ADHD. My son can not physically sit still nor focus and year round has provided comfort and help with his ADHD. The 3 weeks he gets off gives him the break he needs in between the classes. I choose to put him in year round after doing preschool on a traditional schedule and he did not do well on. He has done 90% better on the year round schedule.

I am asking you to please support keeping our school on a year-round calendar.
Many of us specifically chose this school because it is year-round. I personally drive over 20 minutes so my autistic son can receive the structure, support, and unique benefits this schedule provides. The consistent learning pace, shorter breaks, and stability make a real difference — especially for students who thrive on routine.
Changing to a traditional calendar would not just be a minor adjustment. It would disrupt families, working parents, childcare plans, and most importantly, the academic and emotional stability of our children.
This decision impacts real students and real families who intentionally built their lives around this model.
Please stand with us in protecting the year-round schedule that serves our children so well. Sign this petition and help us keep what works.

I believe that year round school is best for the kids. My kids have improved so much academically with year round school that they don’t want to go back to traditional. I believe that year round school is better for all kids and families
