I have have been a regular visitor of this place for many years. My children and i got so much from our visits. I recently accompanies a school trip here and found the children learnt more at the canterbury heritage museum than the day we went to the imperial war museum london. A fantastic venue for All round education not Just Local.

The historic section of Canterbury is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This museum serves as an anchor to interpret the complex history of the city. Frankly, I am signing this petition because I desperately want to visit this museum when it re-opens.

I never even knew this place existed and would support it if better advertised

We are looking to Canterbury City Council to properly recognise the great historic importance of the City and carefully rethink its position. Closure of this Museum will reflect very badly upon the City for many years to come. Canterbury deserves much better than this.

Canterbury's history deserves to be told to locals and visitors alike. Please look at those organisations supporting this petition and liaise with them on how best to do this. Local resident.

Canterbury exists and thrives on its own heritage, any loss or detraction from it undermines this.

Every possible effort should now be made to enter into constructive discussions with all interested parties in the genuine interest of this museum, its contents and the future of Canterbury's surviving heritage. Local resident.

As frequent visitors of Canterbury ( and the Museum!) we think it is a disgrace that the Council of a city with so much history doesn't support this Museum!

It's a wonderful building. It's difficult to see the medieval part as being suitable for anything other than a heritage function.

The CHM is a museum within a museum; it is the only museum that tells the story of the city and it should be retained as a museum and enhanced by the consortium working in partnership with CCC M&G or failing that, as an independent Trust.
