I live in Australia but my family heritage is in Canterbury and I would be saddened to learn this repository of history has been lost to this and future generations

The Canterbury Heritage Museum is an important place for research and inspiration for our work as artist and jewellery maker in Canterbury

A historically important city like Canterbury should have a dedicated museum, not just a couple of rooms in the public library.

This historic building makes an excellent museum and for the heritage of the city it should not be closed, it is inspiring and fascinating. Theatres do not need historic buildings to rehearse in!

Museums are valuable resources that cannot be lost, once something is gone it can never be gotten back. We have learnt this valuable lesson after the Christchurch earthquakes in New Zealand. We lost so many valuable buildings.

I support those who would preserve this museum. It is of vital importance to the city's history, its history and our origins

It's important to compile all the information that we can collect and store it in a common location easy to assess.

It is important to maintain access to nationally significant museum collections open not only in the capital, but also in the regions. Canterbury Museum is an important element of this threatened infrastructure.

As a long term resident of the city, I first saw the historical collection of Canterbury in the Westgate Towers. As that is sadly no more, please keep this valuable museum open to everyone. It deserves to be developed and managed. Canterbury is such an important part of the UK. It is unthinkable that a prestigious university city and UNESCO World Heritage site like Canterbury could be without a historical museum. Please work with the consortium to achieve their objectives.

As a Canterbury resident of many years standing I regard that the continuance of the Heritage Museum is important, albeit that the displays and interpretation need to be updated

We have loved brining our children to the Heritage Museum for many years. It's a unique and beautiful building and it would be a terrible shame if the public were to be denied access to it and the full range of exhibits housed within.
