Save Canisius Cheerleading and dance teams- both are valuable clubs not only to the participants, but, to the whole student body and overall school spirit!

I chose to attend Canisius because I was excited about the school spirit. It is very upsetting to see these teams go. They bring the school together at games and are involved in the community. Members of these teams deserve as much respect as the D1 teams at Canisius College. Eliminating these teams would mean eliminating an activity where students can demonstrate their passion. SAVE cheer & dance!!!

I was inbetween two local colleges my freshman year... I picked Canisius because it had a dance program and the other school did not. I made life-long friends, learned leadership skills, cleared stress and truly enjoyed each and every moment as I walked onto the court to promote spirit in our athletic teams. I could not imagine my 4 years as a Griff without the Canisius College Dance Griffs. Athletics, Cheer and dance are many of your students' true passions... And to simply cut away these teams is a MAJOR disadvantage to not only your students, but Canisius itself. I urge you to reconsider your decision.

Let them cheer! Let them dance! They give Canisius a voice and pump up the crowd!

I picked Canisius for its dance program. I was inbetween two local schools, and because the other did not have dance, I picked Canisius. The team was a way to have fun, forget about stresses and enjoy the true spirit of Canisius. Please reconsider your decision, athletics.

This is absolutely ridiculous. What happened to raising school spirit? The school cannot function without dance and cheer. Bring it back.

I am not and cheerleader nor am i a dancer, but i firmly believe these teams should not be cut. Administration at Canisius has wanted to increase and promote the sports teams more and more each year during my time at Canisius (2012-2016) and if these teams are cut, where will the Canisius spirit be during the basketball games? Even more lost than it is now.

As both a Canisius Cheerleading and Dance Griff alumni, I am exceptionally upset by this information. The dance and cheer teams are quite possibly the sole reason why I stayed my 4 years at Canisius. My best friends from college were those I made on the teams, as well as my fondest memories. Both teams work hard, are dedicated, and have ENORMOUS school spirit and pride. This hasty decision is one that should certainly be rethought. I held position of Cheerleading Captain on the '13-'14 squad, and would happily give further input on this matter.

As an alumni of the program, I am utterly heartbroken that the school would do away with two teams that do so many of their activities through their own fundraising in addition to being at any and all events the the school may want them at. Personally, being able to cheer my 4 years in college made my experience so much more than it would've been without it. I urge athletics to reconsider this decision.

Cheerleading and dance are a big part of many people's lives! I don't think that any college or anybody should ever take that away from their kids! I'm sure many people agree with us on that!

These sports have been a very impotant part of these student's lives and a large attribute to their attitudes and possibly future endeavors. These students have learned what it means to be a team and to be an active part of a positive school program. There should be no good reason to terminate these programs that are such an important part of their college years. DISGRACEFUL!!!!!

Cheerleading and Dance is an opportunity to make friends, grow as a community, and to show their skill and pride for what they do. Not only for themselves but for the school. Cheerleading and Dance need to be apart of Canisius

Please rethink this decision. My adopted son enjoys this team so much and it helps to relieve stress during the semesters. Please
