This has always been the best part on the beach, even before the park, and as such Grenadians should not be relegated to entering the beach at a different location.

It's not only about losing a park, it's about locals losing premium access to the best beach on the island. Why should we be reduced to using allowed roads and tracks? This is not what the law intended! Give us premium access to OUR beaches!

I do not believe the park should be sold, it is one of the few entrances to the public beach. It makes many Grenadians feel as though the government (the ruling body that decides the fate of the nation not merely the administration) views it people and resources as just a pay day... No further development needed because it is all going to be sold off to the highest bidder.

Regarding the Fate of the Historical & Highly Valued Camerhogne Park in Grenada

NYC; Jan. 6, 2016 -- Amidst the amorphous discussions about the possible closure of Camerhogne Park (a longtime, much appreciated, open green-space, along Grand Anse Beach in the south of Grenada), as opposed to having a new and upgraded similar park at a different location, it would be helpful if the authorities in Grenada would accurately outline the details of the proposed plans. The record must be set straight.
What's the premise here? 1) Will there be an upgraded Camerhogne Park at the same location?; or 2) will there be a new park and recreational facilities at another location on Grand Anse Beach? These are two different projects in terms of nature.
In the case of #1 we shall maintain the current location of Camerhogne and simply improve on it; whereas in the case of the latter, we shall lose Camerhogne and have something new, which may or may not be any better.
Let's tell it clearly like it is, Spice Paradise (Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique).
Having a clearly stated proposal on the table, would allow for an intelligent debate and cost/benefit analysis of plans, so that we can ultimately choose an initiative/approach that's consistent with sustainable development protocol and that's best for our people and environment, in the short, mid and longterm -- especially in the LONGTERM.
Unfortunately, the details thus far on this subject, including what was shared in a recent government hosted press briefing, are unclear in terms of giving the public an assurance that Camerhogne Park would not be eliminated to make space for a hotel or some other similar project.
Mind you, considerations of allowing another major capital developmental project on our shoreline (low-land area), are happening despite global realizations and regional discussions of the need to move industrial and other developments away from vulnerable disaster prone coastal areas, in view

The current Administration need to realise they have been given a temporary mandate to act as Custodians of the People's affairs. 'To Oversee and Take Care Of' the affairs of Grenada. NOT Dominate, Dictate and abuse their position.
My fellow Grenadians also need to realise they hold the power and that the Temporary Custodians MUST be held accountable at all times.

To sell this park to an Egyptian Billionaire(or anyone else for that matter) is ludicrous! Furthermore, to do so without giving the Grenadian people a voice to air their opposition to it, is illegal. This cannot happen!!

SAVE THE PARK !! It is a National Treasure. New York would not, can not sell its Central Park to greedy developers - - where are the values and Pride in Grenada ??? I feel this NNP political group is disgracing the Culture, the History & the Image of Grenada. SAVE the PARK.
