This area shouldn't even be considered - the horrendous traffic backed up in a single lane on Old Spicewood Springs for 1 mile to 360 is enough to say No. I believe the City has failed to understand or drive in the areas it proposes for development. Absolutely ridiculous. Try driving it at 8am during the school year. That's all we need is even MORE traffic on 360 to prevent our kids from getting to local schools. When your school commute to go 5 miles turns into 30 minutes - you know the City has failed you!

I've driven on Spicewood Springs Rd since 1973 ( and had a motorcycle crash on a curve). The flood-prone and narrow road is not appropriate nor cost effective to accommodate a single-interest commercial property such as a hotel. Cantwells business ( auto junk, then glass) did not impose the kind of traffic envisioned for that area. My granddaughter attends the country school for the past several years, and it is always too congested to turn in during morning and evening rush hours. In fact, it is dangerous enough for the braver who bicycle this scenic route.

Please post the water quality, run off & detention regulations on this developer or future developer at 6315 Spicewood Springs Rd. for the surrounding community. We may welcome the hotel and event's venue.

I am very concerned about putting anything on that property especially a project like this one. Please .. save our beautiful streams and make it a park land. This part of Austin is too precious to let development ruin what Austin is known for. Spicewood Springs is a small two lane beautiful scenic road not meant for traffic like this one.. again please don't let this happen to our beautiful Austin .. there are very few roads left in Austin like Spicewood.. it is an Austin treasure.

An 11 story hotel at that location is a very wrong-headed idea. Bull Creek water quality is already an occasional issue. This location is upstream from a number of public parks and preserves that are enjoyed by Austin citizens throughout the year. Spicewood Springs Rd. Which borders the proposed hotel location is a narrow two lane blacktop road with no shoulders and no bike lanes. It also regularly floods and is closed to traffic. This is an important public safety concern and should not be allowed to happen!!
