Chris is right, Buck does deserve a second chance!!! Young children are unpredictable around animals; Buck was probably just frightened by the child. Please give him a chance to live a long and happy life with someone who truly cares about saving his life!!!

There is no reason Buck shouldn't be allowed to go to someone who is fully aware of his issue and still willing to take him. I understand they have even offered to sign a waiver of liability so the City of Manhattan no longer has an excuse. If you go through with this execution, you are heartless beings.

This poor dog has not had a fair shake by the outdated system. He should not have been sent ANYWHERE 1 day after surgery!!! AND ESPECIALLY with a small child! Please reconsider and let Buck be adopted by a proper-fitting family or person, i.e., Chris Soupene.

Dogs bite for different reasons...not just because they are mean. put the dog in a home without small children

This was not handled well at all. First of all the dog should not have been sent to a home one day after surgery especially with a small child. These people where not trained properly. Save the dog!

I believe that for every person ( dog lovers ) there is the right dog (or breed ), and poor"Buck", got put in the wrong situation (or home )' Plus the timeframe ( after surgery )was a little bit too fast poor a
fellow, he just wanted peace and sleep in that moment to get over the surgery and understand what happened to him he must've been very very confuse ! And I agree with you I hope Manhattan to reconsider . Let's just find the perfect solution in between this situation , and NOT put this poor Dog down. It would be a very very sad and bad thing if he "Bucks" life have to end it's just not right .So Manhattan I plead I repeat I plead, please please please please do the right thing and let him have a great life what he deserves do it for the people around a great state "Kansas"! Make a statement for All the great countries, that animals deserve and need second chances , be a role model and give him a second chance and show are other "animal shelters ", The right thing to do ! BUck deserved to live! A dog just neutered and without pain meds placed Ina home with a 2 yr old was a huge mistake by the placement agency. PLease give him the chance he needs with a loving man who wants him. PLease do not destroy this beautiful dog who is not know to have aggressive tendencies. THank you.

As a former shelter veterinarian, I understand the concerns with adopting out an animal that has a bite history. However, bites can occur under varying circumstances, some of which are preventable. In the previous shelter in which I was employed, and our local shelter, adoptions with stipulations (such as no children in the home) can occur successfully. As a previous long-time Manhattan, KS, resident, I've been proud to see the city grown in leaps and bounds. Buck is in the fortunate position that many people have volunteered to assist, including having a behavior evaluation. Working with these volunteers will not only help Buck, but will also help the shelter keep a positive relationship with the supporting public. I urge you to strongly re-consider your current stance on Buck and work to arrange to settle him in a "forever" home. Thank you.

Sad story but not the dogs fault. Should not have adopted him out to a family with a toddler less than 24 hours after neutering and anesthesia! Poor judgement on the part of the shelter NOT Buck.
