This shelter needs to have ALL of it's policies re-evaluated. I would bet any employee there would be pretty grumpy had their bodies just had their hormones cut off. This dog is not to blame for what happened and should not be killed. Enough dogs and cats die in this country. Please do the right thing and not add to that total.

Save Buck !! This story needs to be on National News !! These shelters need to follow the laws and not let " ANY " animal be adopted out without getting shots first!! Worry about neutering later and thank God the girl was not hurt worse than she was. This is Animal abuse and these people have to be held accountable for their actions. They are quick to put an animal down, there are to many unwanted animals out there and they have no voice at all. This is cruel what they did to Buck and we as animal lovers need to stick together and do something about all of this. Please Save Buck !!

Change the owner, change the dog!

Please spare Buck's life. These are not aggressive dogs.

This is absolutely not the dog's fault - first, he should not have been adopted out that quickly after surgery; second, I have a three year-old and would never allow her to be around a newly adopted dog alone at any time; and finally, he has a wonderful adopter who is willing to have him evaluated, what more could you want? This is just a stupid decision made by an even stupider municipal shelter. Shame on you all for letting down this poor pup.

Buck deserves another chance. He was clearly put in a bad situation to begin with. And why didn't the shelter give him a rabies shot before adopting him out? Sounds like the whole situation, from the shelter to the adopters was handled inappropriately. Either sign him over to a rescue or let Chris adopt him. I've had many GSP's and have never had any of them bite. Don't kill the dog because others may have not handled the adoption correctly. It's not the dogs fault.

This young pup deserves another chance. I feel for the family and the child that was bitten, but I mean for pete sake, why in the world would someone send a dog that was neutered 24 hours prior, which is already a traumatizing experience to a new home with new people and expect him to behave perfectly? Expect him not to react to being antagonized? And to a home that has a young child?! He didn't know these people let alone trust them yet. In addition, why would he be adopted out to a family w/o having a rabies shot? Is this normal protocol? That's irresponsibility on the shelters behalf in my opinion. I find it absurd that we are even having to sign a petition and leave comments such as these for this situation which clearly could have been avoided and which I believe is no fault of this poor dogs. Let this dog go to a home where he will forever know what love and friendship is. This is ridiculous.

Buck deserves a second chance. Kids accidentally aggravate dogs all the time and dogs have limited ways to communicate. I'm guessing that's what happened with this child.
