This is insanity. There is no reason that child should be circumcised. Studies have shown that it leads to a higher possibility of erectile dysfunction, a higher chance of premature ejaculation, and a decrease in sexual satisfaction. That is a huge choice to be making and if it is to be made, I believe he should be able to one day choose for himself.

I am sickened by the authorities for what they are doing to this poor girl, her child and family. She is not a criminal and the state has no right to take away her parental rights and decisions that she can and SHOULD be making for her child. This needs to stop!

This is outrageous! The mother has already been through hell being raped at 14. As a survivor of sexual assault, i am absolutely appalled! And FORCING circumcision?! Alabama department of human services is opting to mutilate a newborn boy's genetals without his mother's concent that will be permanent for the rest of his life!! That is unconstitutional and illegal on SO many levels! Release this poor girl and her sweet baby! This just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It is absolutely disgusting!

As a medical procedure carrying many serious risks and absolute permanence, with only cultural preference "benefits", any government authority should be used to protect the baby's intact genital state. The baby is traumatized enough, having been removed from his nursing mother, and will only be traumatized more by being subjected to an uneccessary surgical cosmetic procedure on the most sensitive part of his body. This insanity must not be allowed!! Stop the circumcision and return the baby to his family!

Plz step away and let this young lady raise her child as she sees fit. She has already been thru enough, without being emotionally abused by the system. No mother is perfect and if u think there is a parenting guide book that gets everything right then u r an idiot. You can do everything "right" and still be wrong. Release them, every mother knows exactly what the term "it takes a village" means. The DHR is not her village. Every mother deserves support from people she trusts. To deny her that is heartless. DHR can visit and observe without this continuous emotional tram she and her baby are receiving. They should adhere to the doctors montra FIRST DO NO HARM!
