Circumcision has had its day. The proof is growing daily that it has no beneficial effect, and can result in death. A baby is born perfect. Don't ruin perfection. Braelon deserves better.

I'm here in the UK learning of this story and am absolutely astounded that this has happened to this mother.
She made an incredibly brave choice to keep her baby and has done everything physically possible to be a good mother to her son.
The treatment of this young mother has been absolutely repugnant and it reflects extremely badly upon the American authorities who should be doing all they can to help her, as opposed to victimising her after all she has been through.
Shame on you. I'll share this petition in the UK.

Let this young mother take care of her child in her home! Do not force this child to be genitally mutilated! His body is perfect --- DHS has NO moral or ethical right to consent to medically unnecessary/genital mutilation.

PLEASE give this Mama & her baby back to her Grandparents!!! Do NOT circumcise the baby...it is only a cosmetic surgery, that carries with it the risk of DEATH! And let her nurse her baby on demand. That is what is the healthiest for the baby, to establish a successful breastfeeding relationship. Alabama, you are a acting like a MONSTROUS state by allowing this! Please turn that around. Don't destroy this family.
