Save Bradford Youth Service
The Councillors of Bradford in the recent budget proposal have suggested that the Youth Service be cut by 79.4%. This will leave 2 Youth Workers for each constituency area e.g. Keighley, Bradford South etc. The Youth Service provides things to do, someone to talk to and places for young people to go. The Youth Service also provides opportunities for young people to participate in a range of activities, celebrate their achievements and become actively involved in their communities. The Youth service also creates opportunities for young people to learn informally and achieve recognition by gaining accreditation and awards. The Youth Service offers new expiernces for thousands of young people from across the District who wish to take part in the live music events, outdoor challenges, international exchanges, song writing, drama, photography, film-making, environmental projects, cultural events and more. They create opportunities to improve young people's self esteem and confidence, providing ongoing support and experiences to young people to enable them to become active and well rounded members of society. If the propsed cut to the service is actioned then this and all generations to come WILL SUFFER.
