This outcome secures the resources our young people deserve and reflects the commitment of everyone who supported this effort. JRF research identifies the 4th biggest cause of loneliness is lack of opportunities for young people
It will cost the council more money in the long run if they keep cutting these vital preventative services. So short sighted.
There is a very real need for work with young people in Denholme, both in terms of leisure activities and also to help control some of the antisocial behaviour evident on almost a daily basis.
This will have an effect on all our communities - Youth Cafes have been doing such valuable work. There are not enough volunteers willing to sustain this service.
A cut of 80% of any service will totally decimate it. How can any politician think that it is right to abandon the young people of this and future generations. Volunteers can do so much but there must be a structure to support them.

As a local employer who takes corporate citizenship and youth development through modern apprenticeships very seriously, I would be very concerned and very disappointed in the local authority if it was to implement such draconian cuts.
