There are two elementary schools and a highway exit to 66 that already cause city-gridlock levels of traffic without the addition of this school. During 7:30-8am, you have the roads full of Oakton High School students, Flint Hill students, Oakton Elementary students, and all the parents that are trying to take Highway 66 to commute into work.
Do you plan to ask the students' parents of this "new elementary school" to appropriate an extra hour of their commute just to make it half a mile one way down Blake Lane in gridlock-level traffic, not to mention another half hour to an hour just to get out? I really don't understand how you plan to add another several hundred vehicles and dozens of school buses to the already gridlocked Blake Lane without absolutely overloading the already deficit infrastructure around this area... Are you going to helicopter drop these elementary school kids to their new campus? Are you going to expand the roads to add 2 more lanes to Blake Lane? What is your plan to deal with the compounded traffic issue that this proposed elementary school will bring on top of the already ridiculous traffic?

Please save Blake Lane Park.It is used by many in the neighborhood who have very little green areas. There is much congestion on Blake and Bushman already. This would make it worse.

It would be detrimental to the community and people who enjoy this space to have Blake Lane Park destroyed. Not to mention it would also negatively impact the community by causing additional congestion on Blake Lane. Please find another location to build the school.

We love the open field. We regularly play frisbee, throw footballs around, fly kites there and during the winter snow days we love going there to build our snowmen. Building on this lot will be horrible for our neighborhood, not to mention the added traffic in this area.

As a resident living off of Blake Lane, I'd be deeply disappointed to see this area destroyed. It's a beautiful community feature for soccer teams, dog owners, or simply people in need of a little refreshment. Building over this would only add to the already nightmarish traffic in the area, and give us one fewer restful place of beauty to feel rejuvenated by.

Please save this green space. Surely the County can find a more practical site for an elementary school of that size that will not make life and traffic nearly impossible for the residents living nearby. Trees and green and space to move is essential for people and pets. This planned school location will be the death of peace, quiet and too many wild animals to justify its construction. Please do not do this!

It seems strange to build an elementary school down the street from 2 others. The traffic is already bad enough with oakton high school nearby, and it will become unbearable with another school.
I believe keeping the park is much better for the community. Not only is the school a bad idea but also the park is an enjoyable feature of our community

The loss of this park would be terrible for the neighborhoods around it. I live a very short distance from the park and use it regularly. I cannot recall a day that I have gone there when there were not other people there. The dog park itself is a necessity. So many people around the park have dogs but live in townhouses with small backyards. Taking a dog to the park to run and play with other dogs is a great social experience for both the dogs and the people who get to hang out with each other. Add in the use by the young kids soccer teams and other sports-where will they go if this wonderful piece of green space is taken away? The traffic situation on Blake Lane in the morning commuting hours gets worse by the year. Bringing an 800 student elementary school into the mix will make traffic a nightmare as bad as Rt.66 at rush hour. I really do hope that the park can be saved. The loss would be tragic to the community around it.

This is our only green space pleas do not take it away! A lot of the houses here do not have large yards, the dog park provides a space for dogs to run around in. This place gets plenty of use from the kids playing on fields, and walkers/joggers. Please do not destroy the area that is so widely used!
