Bicester RFC like Witney RFC and other rugby clubs around the country are at the heart of many communities. I hope this doesn't go ahead, would be a massive shame. Good luck

Best wishes from everyone at Witney RFC; community sport, inc. rugby, does so much for both individual & societal progress - not just fitness & wellbeing (although such merits are obviously and emphatically linked towards good health, attainment and relative economic prosperity), but also cognitive, social and emotional development. Let's promote citizenship, not capitalism. Facilitating such commercial developments on green space seems counterintuitive when faced with the kinds of antisocial behaviours that have become all too commonplace in areas when youngsters interests aren't identified, resourced and similarly supported.

Outrageous - Bicester's 'attainment' of green city status courtesy of the mafia of the mediocre has lead to developers circling like vultures to spot and build on any available space.

I was born and bred in Bicester and all this time Bicester Rugby club has meant a lot to our family, we have had numerous family members play either rugby or football and we have held a lot of parties to celebrate all kinds of family events.. This is a terrible thing to close it ,enough teams of both sports still play there so that is proof that it is still needed,

Green and leisure spaces are crucial to the health and wellbeing of our children, not to mention the consequences of them not having such areas and facilities in their lives, including the risk of increasing crime.

I was born and grew up playing sport on these fields, let's keep them for the future generations to do the same.....be able to represent their town at sport in the town!

We cannot lose every piece of communal green land to housing. It's ridiculous and totally unfair. Think of our kids. They need sports grounds.

What utter bollocks is this!
This is truly disgraceful to even be considered. Both football and more so rugby are a huge part of the community. From 6yr olds to old age pensioners, it's home to them all. These clubs give out youth a place to play, to engage with others, learn life skills and most importantly help tackle the ever growing issue of health problems such as obesity.
What is the point in crying for kids to do more if you take away their clubs, their home from home. Moving the club isn't the option, there is far more green land around the village then the need to build on this site.
Do the right thing, don't screw this up, keep these clubs going for generations more to enjoy in their village.
