Besade Park is a vital space for our neighborhood, providing a safe place for children, families, and residents to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately, the park is currently in dangerous and unsanitary conditions, and urgent improvements are needed to make it safe and usable again.

Here are the main concerns documented by local residents:

• Playground structures are rusted, broken, and unsafe, with loose or exposed screws.
• Surfaces are dirty, including sandboxes contaminated with human and animal waste.
• We have found used condoms, drug needles, and other hazardous materials in areas meant for children.
• Individuals have been observed sleeping inside playground equipment, using drugs, and engaging in sexual activity on park grounds.
• The water fountain is rotten and covered in green mold, making it unsafe to use.
• The park is left open at night with no supervision, contributing to unsafe activity.
• Lighting is poor, and there is a lack of regular police presence or patrols.
• There is no consistent cleaning or maintenance, leaving trash and hazards for children and families.

This park serves a large population, including families from across Biscayne Boulevard and surrounding neighborhoods. It is critical to restore it as a safe, clean, and family-friendly space.

We respectfully request:

1. Immediate inspection of the park and playground equipment.
2. Repair or replacement of unsafe playground structures.
3. Regular cleaning and sanitation schedules.
4. Improved lighting throughout the park.
5. Police monitoring or periodic patrols to ensure safety.
6. Proper closing procedures to prevent overnight misuse.
7. Restoration or replacement of the water fountain.
8. A point of contact to follow up on progress.
