Save Barlow Common

In the heart of the Selby District lies a 100 acre nature reserve which provides a valuable recreational facility to the public of the region. The site is currently manned seven days a week by two wardens who are responsible for the daily running and maintenance, ensuring a clean, safe and healthy environment for the many people that visit to walk, picnic, observe the flora and fauna and make use of the superb angling facilities on the mere therein. Due to public spending cuts the Selby District Council are intending to make the two wardens posts redundant later this year, a course of action which will leave the site unmanned and open to neglect and abuse. We don't want to see the site deteriorate in this manner and ultimately lose this facility. If you are passionate about Barlow Common Local Nature Reserve please take a minute to sign this petition in support of the cause to save the wardens positions and ultimately Save Barlow Common.
