This is a very unique spot in Michigan and deserves to be left alone, as is. Once destroyed-gone forever.

Paving will retain heat in the winter, causing the bottom layer of snow to melt and then form ice, leaving the path unusable to walkers and skiers.

Save Bancroft Park!
Just walking distance from my friends house is this beautiful park. We meet up with other local families to let the kids play and take them to explore the paths. Summer wouldn't be summer without Bancroft Park.

Groesbeck construction has already begun to destroy the spring fed pond. It has receded by about 50% this year by my observation. Once they finish the look out deck for that spot it will likely be just a dried up mud hole.... So sad literallly watching avarice destroy this amazing area this year.

Bancroft Park is a Lansing -- and Michigan -- gem! It is a tiny remnant of a once amazing glacier remnant. It should be expanded not diminished!

This a park of my childhood, sledding, ice skating,picnics, not to mention one of the truly beautiful spaces left in Lansing....do we have to ruin every green/beautiful space left? Leave Bancroft Park alone!

We own a house that backs up to the park and the setting was the biggest draw in purchasing the home. We have enjoyed the natural area and would hate to see it changed. (we no longer live in the house, but still own it)

Agree and assert that the non-drainwork changes should be abandoned, to preserve the natural beauty of the park. Owner of properties on Lake Lansing Rd, and Woodruff Ave.

We use this park almost everyday to walk our dog. We love that the park is natural. We see frogs crossing the path, deer in a distance, herons on the pond, birds of all types, wild flowers everywhere, turtles and other animals. We need to leave this park in its natural state and to distroy the sledding hill is an insult to the children citizens of Lansing. The local government will not be happy until all the natural parks are destroyed of their beauty. I suppose condos will be next after expanding the golf course. Leave this park to nature where it belongs.

I grew up sledding that hill, have taken my kids to Angell hill, and played in and enjoyed the park because it was rugged. Planning this rare option for urban kids to escape into the woods is not a move forward. I support the drainage portions of the project.
