There is no public car park in the streets surrounding the Main Street, so whilst parking is currently a problem consideration needs to be given to how people can use local businesses and how take-away shops, florists, funeral parlours etc who operate home delivery services can get constant vehicle access to their premises. In addition the amount of new homes being build in the local area is increasing the amount of people using the Main Street. Has an option to provide a public car park near by been considered?

This is crazy and I for one feel the council will be putting small businesses out of business if we can't stop and pick things up.

Totally agree with this proposal, Baillieston needs all the help it can get to keep small businesses alive and profitable.

Main Streets are becoming fewer and fewer. Their charm are disappearing giving way to multi national super stores with no charecter.

This will only cause more hastle to Baillieston, waste of money that could have been used to fix roads in surrounding areas that are covered in pot holes !!

Glasgow City council should be investigated they are robbers without the mask they only want to penalise motorists and businesses look at the Glasgow City Centre

Not only does the main street not need parking meters although it did need parking bays so people can learn to park properly. But since putting in the bays they are too small for many cars and some are not even straight.

Parking system is about as much use as using a sledge hammer to crack a walnut. Collateral damage to small local businesses makes it unjustifiable

Agree that there were issues with the way drivers parked in inappropriate manner in and around Main Street. This should be tackled in some way, however parking charges are a step too far and will adversely impact on local businesses.
