Can someone help me understand why the fee is going up? I believe keeping chickens shows commitment to healthy soil and healthy living. The practice also builds community. Why not raise the price of something which does otherwise?

Given the very limited number of licenses being issued this is ridiculous - the revenue gained is minuscule and the increase may actual make some Folks stop and others not consider to start

This is a terrible decision. Why put up barriers to self sustainability? Increase costs for activities that hurt the community and need to be discouraged- not beneficial activities!

$75 is extremely unfair! Requiring chicken owners to double their yearly fee without raising fees for other animals is unjust. Why are we being punished for trying to live a healthier lifestyle?

100 percent increase is too extreme. In fact, I feel that the present $37 fee is excessive.

The $37 dollars seems very high, let alone raising it to $74. It would seem a city with such a high rate of food insufficiency would encourage residents to grow their own food, rather than relegate chickens to only those that have disposable income.
