This is a wonderful, organized and thoughtfully run business that is popular and a Vineyard tradition to visit at nite. It is not rowdy and loud as the opponent complains. She is just a grumpy self-centered woman who should just move to the desert and let Back Door Donuts continue to be a wonderful part of a Vineyard tradition-not to mention incredible fritters. Why should we all suffer the possible loss of a great business because of one disgruntled woman?

I am in favor of the business. Maybe they can put up something as a sound barrier. Such as bushes or wall with maybe sea coast art work on it. Idk.

BDD is an irreplaceable part of summer in bustling Oak Bluffs. It has been a tradition for our family and guests since the 2000s. The buzz of activity at night in downtown is part of what makes OB unique. Reasonable accommodations have been made by the new owners. One person who can’t accept OB for what it is should not be able to shut down tradition. What will be next? The bands at The Ritz? Giordano’s pizza window and clam bar? Closing off Post Office square because people hang out there late eating ice cream and talking too loud? Save BDD from NIMBYism and keep OB as the special place that we love.

Back Door is a STAPLE of my entire childhood!!! This is one of the number one things I look forward to EVERY SUMMER and i’m 25 years old! All of our hearts would break if this Vineyard tradition was taken away. There’s already been other heartbreaking losses. We definitely don’t need this one. OB would never be the same.
