One of our vacation bucket list items is a trip to Back door Donuts so we have Apple fritters in the AM. This is a fun, quirky island favorite thing to do. This year, the line was controlled, quiet, and well monitored. We would be very sad to see it go.
Back Door is as much a part of MV as everything special on MV. If you choose to live in a crowded neighborhood near commercial enterprises, that is also a choice to sign up for noise. But Back Door is not noisy, nor are the people in line.
My father passed away in 2016. My favorite memories of him are going to Nancy’s to see his world record shark (Mako shark 2001) and getting back door donuts for the best treat at night. My dads already gone, don’t take back door donuts away too
We eloped in Oak Bluffs, right at the gazebo 10 years ago. Before the JP got there, we got ourselves a fritter. We’ve been back at least once a year since and each visit wouldn’t be complete without waiting in line after dark for our hot fritter.
Please don’t allow one voice to override hundreds or event thousands of people who have enjoyed something special and unique here on the island. I’ve enjoyed these treats for 30 years and have met some many great people as we waited patiently:)
That one neighbor can move or install sound proof walls

People should research more before buying a place and then expect the things that were already there to change. BDD deserves to stay where they’ve been. What’s to stop them from going after the next business and the next one. Keep BDD open and where it is!
