Australia's car manufacturing industry is brought to it's knees with the announced exit of Toyota from the country. We know that Holden and Ford have previously confirmed similar decisions.

It is known that the work force chuckles are the main reason for these decisions. The government has the solution but it may be blind to it. The only solution is to empower these manufacturers with freezone status, the freezone will be regulated by a federal freezone authority that manages the privileges and obligations of these companies while giving them more freedom in running their companies.

This is a tested solution and it is only a signature away since we will not be reinventing the wheel. The parliament needs to pass this law and we need them to do it now.

If this is achieved, not only the government will not have to bail out the companies, it will also be not illegible to pay the dole for employees who are going to be redundant. Additionally it is most likely that the job market will flourish and more job vacancies will become available.
