I grew up going to this park and would be gutted to see it removed. A great place for children to play and people to walk their dogs. Keep Ashfield as it is!

To do this to this area is wrong in anyway you look at it enough houses are going up in standish put them somewhere else !!!!!

Ashfield park is a vital part of the local community in Standish and also used by a great number of people from Wigan and Shevington.
The park is regulary used all year round in all weather, by a wide age group.
Any responsible council should be maintaining parks and promoting healthy lifestyles and exercise.

I spent hours playing here as a kid. Standish doesn't need more houses, it doesn't have the infrastructure for it. It needs green spaces for children to play

Once again our local government are just thinking about money and what they can take away from our current and future generations. Ashfield park is in an excellent location for the surrounding housing estates as it is easily accessible on foot. It has great facilities for a wide range of ages.
Perhaps you could inform us of where our local park is that we can access on foot, i thought we where suppose to be in an environmentally friendly era where we are suppose to be reducing our footprint and not adding to it just to be able to take are children to the park for fresh air and exercise. Ashfield park is used all year around for various things it is not just a park. I am aware that there have been issues with youth on the park and anti social behaviour but by constantly removing things from them will not help as it is pushing the problem onto street corners. I would like to suggest a PCSO presence around the area but of course that costs money something that the local government will not invest in. I find it a sad state of affairs when once again things are wanting to be removed rather than improved. Local government and council should be ashamed of themselves.
