Arts High is one of several Great schools in Newark New Jersey. Many children have successfully went to colleges all over the country. To take away this wonderful school would be a travesty.

I loved that I was able to excel at drama and dance that I enjoyed to do with just little effort you have so many famous icons that have come through that door how could you think about shutting it down

i'm a alum of Arts High Class of 1991 and the thought of Arts closing sickens me!! This school has produced so much talent and is a launching board for many aspiring artist. To close this school would do a disservice to the community!!

You would think that someone interested in opening an arts high school would have the sensibility to realize that there is not one option to every answer. Charter schools are not the answer to every educational problem, and especially in the City of Newark, the Arts High that has produced artists (read: successful artists) for decades has been one of the best outlets and learning opportunities for Newark kids to have chance at learning a different route and opening up opportunities. Talking about slapping a gift horse in the mouth. Learn about the history of this school. Learn about the students coming out of it. And take a look at the teachers who have been there (many practicing artists that are getting gallery shows) to teach, inspire, grow, mentor, THROUGH IT ALL. This may be petition number one, but you are just seeing the beginning of the strength behind the opposition of this ludicrous idea to shut down this institution.

Arts High School Is a wonderful education venue. Two of my children graduated from that with excellent art skills. Keep Arts open for our future artistic geniuses.

I have had so many good teachers at Arts High, I would hate to see it go. There is no experience like it. Having Arts High around when I went there made high school an enjoyable time and I want every child to have that opportunity I did. The major teachers are so passionate about what they do and love what they teach.

These is a great school . My oldest graduated from these school 2 years ago n mu daughter assist these school n is sad to see how one lady is turning it around . ALL THE KIDS FROM THE YR MY SON GRADUATE. Are in collapsed pursuing there carrer. N there doin great so I do not understand why these is a failimg school .
