Music brings universal love to one and all if you stop that now where will we be in 5 yrs think about the future for these kids. Is closing this school what's best for them or you? This school gives kids hopes and dream throw that away to early and they'll be hopeless.

I am shocked at the mere thought of Arts High School, my Alma Mater, which is also a pillar in our community, being threatened by the competition of a charter school. This really exposes the possible conspiracy with charter schooling!

Tow of my children graduated from Arts High with great honor and grdaes. Today one is a Naval officer nuclear engineer degree +. The other a graduate from a Christian College and has two beautiful children. A proud father with my Arts High students. Tank you Arts High for a great education practice.

My guess is, "suggestion" focusing on increasing numbers throughout the entire Newark schools system....would completely eradicate the situation. Stop locking up the Kids and give them mandatory go to school sentences. In addition provide them with the necessary items/tools needed to accomplish their goal, with the conditions of achieving at least a B. Schools have a greater employment system, other than the judicial system. Thanks... for your cooperation.

Studies after studies are showing that learning music can make kids smart. When your child learns to play a musical instrument, not only does he/she learn how to make tunes, but he/she also enhances other capabilities of their brain as well:

Arts High impacted my life in ways unimaginable. Being the first child in my family to graduate high school; I didn't receive much support at all for my education but Arts High was my refuge. I found inspiration in my classmates, teachers and music. Many years later the results can be seen. Growing up in Newark I have seen a greater percentage of Arts High school students obtain college degrees, careers and success compared to students in other district schools in the same city. Arts High has helped produce successful members of our community and the world from teachers to ministers, doctors to entrepreneurs, actors, musicians and producers. If schools are going to be eradicated then it should be schools that are not producing the people we need impacting our city and our future generations. Save my dear Arts High!!!
