Three of our beloved teachers have been notified ( BY EMAIL) that they are being laid off! We are losing teachers who are first in line to receive our students when they enroll, teachers who are wonderful math teachers, and teachers with over twenty years of experience at Adler. We are extremely sad to be losing Mrs. Little (Kindergarten), Mrs. Gates (Second grade) and Ms. Hill (Fourth grade). The district has also decided to end the foreign language program. Adler Elementary has always been known for the high quality of our teachers and the impact that they have on our students. It is understood that decisions have to be made that are based on finances, however, that should not be the criteria when choosing educators to put into classrooms with our children. I have heard that there are many layoffs in the district and there are positions needing to be filled! We have always supported and provided for our teachers and we must do so now.
