I think Mr Gavin Opperman customer banking director at Yorkshire Bank needs to check his facts are correct before making a comment... Quote from Weekender when he says that Wombwell and Goldthorpe been the nearest branches for people living in Wath...... Oppps Goldthorpe branch closed years ago and is now a PUB...... Goldthorpe as no banks........

Not a very well thought out commercial decision in my eyes when Wath has one of biggest new housing developments for a miles with more being built. A growing community surely provides more scope for business? I hope all your local customers move banks out of principle....

Save our local banking service. Not all people can bank on line. This a local service that the people want to remain in the village.

This will mean there are no banks in Wath, a disaster for elderly residents and businesses alike. Please reconsider.

We use the wath branch to put cash in on a regular basis, would be really inconvenient to go miles out of my way to do this

Closing both banks will lead to a yet further decline in the centre of Wath, it's not just the banks and staff being affected, it's a local businesses and the whole community.
