I have lived in Lansing for more than 40 years. One of the impressive aspects of this city is its many green spaces. It is so important for children and all ages to have nearby green space to "get a breath of fresh air."

There is no excuse for creating a road/entrance/paved access to Groesbeck Golf Course. Patrons of the golf course already have an entrance and destroying a park at the expense of creating ANOTHER way to access the course is ridiculous. Our kids need parks, not more pavement! Please consider the damage this does to the people who live in the neighborhood! Again, patrons of the course already have an entrance!

I feel bad for the neighbors whose children play there and who walk their dogs there. Not sure how the "road" money spent can be justified just so golfers don't have to make two right-hand turns

Let's stop this train and get the public on board before making big changes. Never try to force things on citizens. Do all you can to get the neighborhood and the general public in agreement with any plan. Public process is best. Show the vision and the numbers for all plans for this park (and all the others) so that the public knows why changes are requested and what the direction is.
I'm an out of towner who visits Lansing several days each week. I lead bike rides to Lansing parks and promote a wide range of fun in Lansing. Our groups are made up of mostly Lansing residents and we spend time and money all around Lansing every week. Let's do this together so Lansing can be a wonderful place to live and visit!

That park literally was the gateway to my purchase and improvement of a home in the neighborhood. It's an incredible little green space with a cool walking trail on one of the few eskers left in the state.

What's the rush??? There are other options that should be considered. Keep the park for kids, families and wildlife and keep the decision-making process thoughtful, honest and transparent.

Let's not allow a road to be built through Ormond Park that will be of no benefit to local children and families. Instead it will steal a vital green space and play space from them.

My dad spent 30 years working for the Lansing parks of recreation.he would be disappointed in what has become of the parks in the city and some of the unnecessary changes within the city including changing the city market around and seeing half of potters park and zoo always overflooding after the so called sewer system redo.its pretty bad that the city of Detroit has no services in mowing the grass in city parks there because of no budget.they have volunteers.why can't Lansing have that if the current mayor and city council claims there is not enough money for things and claiming to be broke?yet,claims that Lansing is in the black for budget for the first time in 12 years.which is it city and mayor and tell the whole truth without flickering or twitching your eyes and/or getting red faced when being offended for being called out in your deceptions and paying certain people to keep quiet and go away?i also find it funny that the mayor didn't care about golf courses in the whole time he has served Lansing.yet,this park featured he wants gone to make a road to go into a golf course.smh.

Vibrant communities need public parks, green spaces, and recreational facilities. Year after year, the powers that be in Lansing have been going against the will of the people - giving away control of the parks, letting them fall into disrepair, even selling them to developers. The madness needs to stop.

The lame duck mayor needs to leave parks alone. Let the people who want to run the city make that decision. He's acting like Trump destroying things HE doesn't care about.

We are losing too many parks as it is. Beck park near my house is one of many that are being left to decay! This is not what I want to see in my community. Please stop the attack on our Lansing parks.
