Our elected officials do not understand that they are in their position because of us, the voters. We are being bankrupcied out of our homes by out of control spending and taxes. This is and will always be a conservative city and it is time we standup and follow the dollar.

Please understand we've facing a triple whammy as our 2024-2025 property tax went up by $937.00 ( 13.5 % ) RFA tax TBD & now potential levy lift. 39 year residents on fixed income........turnips drying up.

Accountability is the name of the game here. We need to take a hard look at the taxdollars being spent on unused EMS services, water, and services for the minorities and ask ourselves if our elected leaders are really looking out for us. Thank you.

This will be the first of many tax increase requests if the mayor and council don’t address the budget imbalance through common sense cuts. Instead the mayor appears to have hitched his ride to pro tax increase groups. This mayor and council appear to be unserious about finances.

The tax increase for some retired people will push them over the top financially.
What can they do? They’ve still have to pay Dr bills ect, with a fixed income it’s already financially stressful, and will be impossible with additional tax increases like this.

The GEMT owed the City is above $10 million and there is $7.0 million in unallocated budget (designated to fire contract) as a result of passing the RFA
