SAVE 35th AVE NE

Let's be smart!! Let's be safe!!

Bicycles already have a safer route in the neighborhood for us to use. Parking is the challenge and will become moreso if this plan goes into effect. Please re-think the planned changes to 35th Avenue NE.

We already have a great designated bike route on 39th Ave. NE, only 4 blocks away! This plan will make traffic even worse and more dangerous.

In addition to the normal traffic constriction that this would create, 35th is a major through fare with multiple times the normal traffic during Husky football and other sports games. This is a misguided effort.

Did the folks who came up with this plan look at the traffic around Eckstein and ASB? 35th is already horrible near these schools. Reducing vehicle traffic on 35th will penalize parents and kids even further when there are two existing biking options.

39th avenue is a bicycle street and 35th is already so congested that to reduce the street access to car traffic would be a mistake.

I walk, I bike, I drive a car, I use the bus. Why are you penalizing the citizens of this wonderful city with plans that erode the quality of life we have known and loved? Do NOT put bike lanes on 35th. Its Dangerous and incongruent with your ridiculous ZERO VISION.

I do not own a car. That said, I use Uber, neighbors and my daughter helps me get around when Im not using the bus. Today, the traffic is so backed up that the bus is often delayed. Making it one lane will only increase the delays, reducing our quality of life. Do you really believe that Seattle is a Great City when it takes 2 plus hours to navigate your way downtown? This is not effective. We have another election coming up. The Council should think hard about what it is Really doing. And so should Durken. Just because you got in--we are watching and we are Fed up with not being heard.

I use this corridor frequently - I appreciate the need for bike lanes but this is not a good decision.

My grandkids walk to school with out sidewalks. Cars fly by them now trying to avoid the traffic. This will only get worse with this terrible plan. Leave 35th alone and improve the bus system so we all want to ride more often.

Bikes belong on side streets! Keep our bus stops, and our parking

The City is ruining the neighborhoods of Seattle, the fabric of this special place. Listen to Us! We need a Better Plan!

I am signing this petition because I support the businesses on 35th and the safety of the families and kids in our neighborhood.

I rarely see bikes on 35th where as this will directly affectly traffic for bussing which quite a lot of people do in this area.

This is a ridiculous change to 35th St. I see 7 bicyclists a day on this street, but somehow hundreds of cars - why exactly do we need to remove a lane from the cars that use this during rush hour traffic in the morning and afternoons and the business that use this lane for parking during the day?

How about the City fix the cracked and broken sidewalks on 85th between 30th and 35th so the elderly and children don’t have to walk in the street.

This is ridiculous. 35th is already a mess. Why would bikers want to risk their lives sharing the road with cars and buses on such a busy street?

I ride a bike and I think this is a ridiculous idea.

Stop wasting taxpayer dollars on projects like this - focus instead on preparing the city for the major earthquake that we all know may happen. The city is NOT adequately prepared for the public safety aspects of that major event.

I am totally pro bicycle! I want everyone to bike. But doing it on the busiest streets is a poor choice. Both because of danger (little plastic sticks make you safe?) and respiration of all the car exhaust. Please think about it. If possible I always ride one block over on the quiet car-free streets with cleaner air and no big trucks or buses. Let's redesign the whole paradigm.
