Thank you for this compelling and important effort. As a senior, I will not be biking to coffee, the grocery store, to dinner. The push to make a bike lane on 35th is an arrogant overreach with zero consideration of the wide age and ability range of NE residents.

Removing parking places on 35th will hurt local businesses, and drive those who would otherwise have parked along 35th onto the already narrow and parking-challenged side streets to park. This makes no sense to anyone who actually lives in our neighborhood! Bad idea. Bad policy. Bad for local business. Bad for those who live near 35th and will likely not be able to park in front of their own homes if parking is eliminated along 35th.

These additional bike lanes will give those riders using the green, yellow, and orange bikes even more space to dump their bikes when they're done. Then where do the cyclists go? Too many dumped bikes across our city already. Don't give them more space....

Bike lanes on 35th are a bad idea. In addition to unnecessarily restricting parking and traffic flow, it's dangerous for cyclists. Bikes and buses don't mix. The greenway on 39th (or any parallel residential street) is much better for cyclists. As a long-time cyclist and bike commuter, I will never ride on 35th, even with bike lanes.

There is a lot of traffic on 35th both in the morning and afternoon with hundreds of cars a maybe one or two bike riders during the peak commute hours. I know, I travel 35th Ave North and South every week day. To inconvenience all the drivers going to work and dropping their kids off at the numerous schools right off 35th is outrageous.

The result of bike Lanes on 35th will be to clog traffic, slow down commuter busses, harm local business, and the list goes on. Why can't bicyclists use the nearby Burke Gilman trail?

Leave 35th Ave NE alone; bicyclists already have 39th Ave NE, which is safer with little traffic. The businesses along 35th need parking to survive. Quit spending money that could be used for better things that painting bike lanes and hurting traffic and businesses along the proposed routes. City Council, keep doing this and voters will work to make sure you don't have your jobs after the next election.

The west side of 35th is crucial library parking and must not be removed. The City/SDOT plan breaks up an essential neighborhood arterial that already works beautifully for pedestrians whether they’ve disembarked from a bus, car or bike. The business area works well for all (sidewalks need maintenance for ADA compliance) especially for the many people who don’t want to go to the University village area. Don’t narrow our choices! (A quiet, fuel efficient or electric/solar shuttle bus tying 35th, 40th, 65th would be smarter). Connect our neighborhoods for all abilities. Do not isolate by design. Do not disregard ADA needs.
I used to work at a neighborhood school daycare and walked to my job. I rarely used my car. I used 35th and 40th for my shopping and carried my grocery bags home because 25th isn’t connected to 35th without a bus transfer (!). These small urban neighborhoods used to be suburbs and serve all locally. Connect us: 35th, 65th, and 40th. Don’t divide us! The streets are for all, including bikes. The design changing 35th is a mistake. Do not decrease our options by changing one well-functioning neighborhood and isolating others. Think. The City approved a design that looks pretty on paper but does nothing to keep people out of their cars. Save parking for those who need it: familes, team players, disabled, residents, customers, employees. Better connect neighborhoods full of people who don’t want to be further isolated, and poluting, in cars!
