The town council denied the rezoning request for 301 Chestnut Lane. This outcome preserves the residential nature of our neighborhood and honors the planning goals we fought to protect. We should remain attentive to future proposals that might affect the character of our community.

What we are fighting:

301 Chestnut Lane ( Parcel 07132035) the proposed commercial rezoning of this single family residential parcel effectively obliterates the Town's comprehensive land use plan, opening the entire area to haphazard development that will stress Town services, cohesion of transportation through-ways and the aesthetic appeal of the Town. We are petitioning this rezoning request, in hopes of keeping this land zoned Single Family Residential and true to the Town of Indian Trail's current residential plan for this area.

Our Goal:

To have the rezoning request denied in hopes to help preserve the history and legacy of this beautiful residential area of Indian Trail.

Please sign this petition and feel free join us on may 4th to fight this rezoning!

Next Town Meeting to discuss this rezoning:

June 20th

6:30 pm- Indian Trail Civic Building at 100 Navajo Trail, Indian Trail, NC 28079

I feel that if approved this may bind the City to a future precedent that it may regret and will continually cause frustration for the citizens who call this place home

As an Indian Trail resident, I know how horrible traffic already is at Chestnut Rd and I'm all for preserving the land in our area!

There are at least 3 other vet hospitals within a 3 -5 mile radius of this property. There is absolutely no need to rezone for this reason.

A family purchases a home in what they expect to be a residential area and they invest more than just the purchase of their home - they bring investments in the community around them. The value of a family to a community long term is greater than the value of a business. Please keep this area residential for families.

Chestnut Lane from Matthews-Weddington to Monroe Road should be restricted to family residences, period. Also, not sure how Indian Trail can "take" your family home in the first place. Anyway, good luck and as I live on Chestnut Lane, strongly support you.

This property should remain residential. A business use is not appropriate for this location and impairs the value of the residences adjoining the property.

Let’s develop the land off independence and leave the residential one family home areas alone.
