This is my 53rd. year of teaching piano. It is the 43rd. year of my entering students in the SAT program. In that time I have had five students go on to Major music conservatories and colleges and universities. All of them have been able to exempt out of first year college theory because of the knowledge gained in the present SAT program. There is absolutely no need for adding all of the proposed extra elements. Teaching these will prohibit me from spending the necessary time teaching the artistic elements of the actual three piece program. It is stressful for me and the students to cover all of the areas that we now have. Let us not have more to learn. This new proposed syllabus is nowver much mo

The current SAT tests serve their purpose well. Certainly it is time to give them a tweak. The proposed revisions are not revisions at all, but rather a completely different testing philosophy. Please do not put our organization at risk by allowing the proposed changes to go through.

I share the concerns that have already been expressed. Tests designed for elementary and middle school students should be designed by teachers who teach typical students at these ages and levels!
