Santa Rosa County citizens supporting code addition for environmental violators

We the undersigned citizens of Santa Rosa County SUPPORT and encourage the addition of an environmental violation code in our county as per the Santa Rosa County county commissioners recommendation. That code will be an environmental damage violation with fine schedule to start at 3000.00 for first offense and 10,000.00 for subsequent offenses. It will also include a section that provides for county assessment of fee collection from the violators for work to repair their damage. This is an action designed to prevent violators from just paying a small fine as a cost of doing business, with no clear repair options, and it includes specific descriptions of what a violation is. This action is a county concern issue, and core of the commissioners duties to enact for the preservation of our environment.

This is imperative to our environment. Too many of our builders completely ignore the care of the land and water in our area. We must act and make them accountable.
We are building extremely fast with minimal Regard to the environment in Santa Rosa county. It is unlikely we will have enough money for proper roads, sewage, etc. and the new gas stations popping up seem out of touch with the move toward electric vehicles. This increase in fees for environmental violations is badly needed.
We need to protect our local environment. Too many builders are getting away with polluting our environment. It has to stop.
Please help save our environment by adopting this new code.

A $300.00 fine is a joke and not a deterrent!
