Santa Rosa County Citizens Opposing BOCC Support of HB1, HB123, HB33

Please don't waste your (and our) time on issues created by the Florida legislature...in this case House Bills that are redundant & unnecessary. The citizens of Santa Rosa County have not affirmed your statements to the effect that ALL of us agree with your opinions. Focus on local matters, please.

Please focus your attention on lowering the COVID-19 positivity rate in Santa Rosa county and quality of life issues we can all agree on! So sick of the hatred and vitriol and those politicians who spread it!

I believe we should be concentrating on stopping the COVID-19 pandemic, most especially on getting all citizens vaccinated.

I am wholeheartedly opposed to these bills and Commissioner Calkins resolutions. If Commissioner Calkins wants to become involved in state politics, let him run for state office, until then, stick to SR County issues

Blatant prejudice should not drive legislation. Please cease and desist on pushing the Trump agenda -- he's gone!

No to these bills. They are partisan and will result in our communities being even more divided.

We don't now keep guns out of people's hands who are not capable of using them safely and mentally .

This is an example of one commissioner with grandiose political ambitions trying to make points with his base. There is a lot of important county business that needs to be done. The other commissioners should not aid and abet these political shenanigans.

I loose the resolutions that Calkins has introduced. These proposals are not in the best interests of our citizens and do not represent my views or the views of my family.

These Bills DO NOT make our communities safer but are more dangerous. HB1 violates 1st Amendment right to free speech, incites violence and supports white supremacy, HB123 has been dismissed and is outrageous for our county to endorse this very dangerous resolution. HB33 social media has an obligation to protect communities from deliberate misinformation, hate speech and bullying.

Please attend to county business. It is a waste of time to concentrate on the state legislative agenda. It is an unneeded action and is only intended to boost the profile of one particular commissioner.

I oppose these bills.

Allow peaceful protest. Don't allow guns in public. Business owners exist to serve the public- all the public.

it is obvious that comm. calkins is more concerned about imposing his religious and political beliefs on the citizens of this county than he is in doing his job. maybe he should resign and find something more suitable for his abilities.

These are nonsensical purely partisan political theater. They are beneath this board and should be unanimously declined. I will not support any commissioner who votes in favor of this rank ploy fro attention by Mr. Calkins, who is rapidly becoming an embarrassment. Let's do not go down this road.

I strongly oppose HB 1, HB 123, and HB 33. These bills have not even passed thru the Florida legislature- why would Santa Rosa County go on record to support bills that have yet to be finalized, other than to make a political statement that promotes the division that has already crippled our democracy? Shame on you for even considering these outrageous resolutions!

I do not support these bills. They are not necessary and are a political statement which does not reflect accurately the people of Santa Rosa county.
