Please work to find a healthy balance in our city. At this point we need more entertainment, not more hirise condomium buildings.

There are about 900 condo units going up in the immediate vicinity. Instead of more residential units, how about more outdoor entertainment area. A park or theatre.

How about a dog park and skating ground for younger generation, and encourage a neighborhood feel, next to 'little Italy'?

A park would certainly be the way to go as downtown San Jose lacks open green spaces. No more high-rises, please!

A city with only high rise buildings and no community parks or green space is not a place that people gravitate towards in the long run.

There are too many hi rises being built. I guy I know commented that he couldn't even buy a shirt downtown. We need more retail.

The area has enough high rise housing. A dedicated entertainment hub would bring much needed balance to the neighborhood!

I would want to see the city leverage The dog park lands for a modern creative destination activity and amenity options. Thanks

An article from the MIT School of Architecture and Planning states that massive urbanization can affect human and environmental health in uniquely negative ways, many of which can be addressed through the realm of design. We need to factor in ways to make downtown San Jose an active, healthy city and one that continues to attract both residents, visitors, and businesses for long-term economic sustainability. Mixed-use buildings or areas where people can mix and mingle and interact will go a long way toward doing that. Let's make downtown San Jose a vibrant, diverse destination city through creative and innovative urban design.

Entertainment is a necessity to life for those of us who live, or plan to live downtown. There is already a great start to the vibrant restaurant and bar scene. But very little pure entertainment. We have lost first run movies, the San Jose Rep, and the California Theater is underutilezed (look at the single event listed for the upcoming holiday season for proof). I shouldn't have to take the light rail or a ride share to another city to catch a first run movie, it should be a stroll in the city.

I support this petition. It's ludicrous to allow another residential building in this space, there are more than plenty residential dwellings in this area due to the high-rises that have been build recently and several others in progress.

Agreed. Make downtown San Jose an entertainment and activity destination -- No high rise on this lot.

I am a current resident of downtown San Jose, and would like to see more entertain venues to support the loyal residents we already have, and to attract more residents to our urban area.
