"Samvidhaan Support Group Calls for a Unified Electoral Vision – One Nation, One Election"
Samvidhaan Support Group: Advocating for One Nation One Election
The Samvidhaan Support Group, formed by young achievers of India, is leading a nationwide campaign urging the youth and citizens of Bharat to sign a petition in support of One Nation One Election (ONOE). This reform is not just the need of the hour but the only way to make India’s democratic structure more organized, systematic, and strong. It promises political stability, efficient use of resources, and greater opportunities for young leaders to actively participate in shaping the nation’s future.
The group, led by several National Youth and NSS Awardees including Bisathi Bharath, Shiva Kumar, Madhish Parikh, Simardeep Syal, Rohit, Pallab Biswas, Niharika, Shristi, and Mantu Kumar, met with the Hon’ble President of India to present a memorandum supporting ONOE. Their delegation highlighted the importance of simultaneous elections for strengthening governance, reducing policy paralysis, and ensuring smooth implementation of national development agendas.
To build momentum, the Samvidhaan Support Group has engaged with over 320 Members of Parliament, organized a massive signature campaign with lakhs of young supporters, and held impactful events such as a one-day hunger strike at Jantar Mantar and a peaceful protest march to Parliament involving more than 2000 youth. Additionally, 112 signed request letters from National Youth and NSS Awardees were submitted to the President, underscoring the seriousness of this movement.
During the meeting, National Awardees emphasized that ONOE can significantly reduce election costs, curb black money circulation, and prevent the misuse of liquor and drugs during polls. It will also minimize voter fatigue and allow governments to focus more on governance rather than continuous campaigning. Appreciating these efforts, the President lauded the commitment of the Samvidhaan Support Group and encouraged their mission toward building a more efficient and prosperous democratic India.
