Like this Anime, but the end was way to open, why didnt they just make a 24 Episode Anime?

I do not know how late I am to this party but hot damn is this anime great. The first season ended well enough to lead into a second one. It was enough to desire more. It is like that plate of food that you have try just one more time to feel satiated. If one was not enough, a second plate(alluding to second season) will suffice to fill the craving.
