It only makes sense to allow students from the TC community to continue the same kind of education they are used to during one of the most difficult times of growing up - middle school years.

My son went to TC and is at Salmon Bay now. It's important for TC families to continue to have this option. Thanks.

Having a middle school that shares educational, emotional and academic priorities is important to families of Thornton Creek students. Please keep the feeder school status!

Our representative is Harium Martin-Morris. His kids went to AEII (Thornton Creek). My main concern is that the Board is exhausted from the gargantuan task of moving Seattle towards neighborhood schools. Let's be respectful while we advocate for our cause. http://www.seattleschools.org/modules/cms/pages.phtml?pageid=191467

I strongly support the preference for Thornton Creek students in attending Salmon Bay. Without access to alternative public education, we will not keep our children in the Seattle public school system.

As in years past, I still support the preference for Thornton Creek students to maintain a similar educational curriculum and philosophy as they did in K-5

Hi Robin! I'm SO glad to hear that you are in the good fight for alternative education. After Waldorf, Louis attended Summit K-12. Other than signing the petition, let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The only good thing about Summit closing was that Salmon Bay received some wonderful teachers (Jon Olver, etc.). Just as with having a Waldorf high school, it seems crazy to meet to have a strong, healthy grade school program without sufficient middle- and high-school options for the kids to continue. - Sandy

Fighting for this status is so unfortunate. As the only other alternative school in the district, Thornton Creek families have no other choice to continue alternative education for their students once they enter the 6th grade.
