I want the school board members to know that not all "option schools" are the same. None of the middle schools in NE shares the value and philosophy of TC. Salmon Bay does.
As a teacher at Thornton Creek, I think it is imperative that our students get a chance to continue their alternative education through middle school.
Please continue the Salmon Bay preference for Thonton Creek. Thornton Creek & Salmon Bay are most closely unified in methodologies & the union is least impact change for TC students that all kids struggle with went entering middle school. Thank you!
I strongly support the preference for Thornton Creek students in attending Salmon Bay. Without access to alternative public education, we will not keep our children in the Seattle public school system.
Fighting for this status is so unfortunate. As the only other alternative school in the district, Thornton Creek families have no other choice to continue alternative education for their students once they enter the 6th grade.
Our daughter is thriving at Salmon Bay Middle School after attending Thornton Creek K-5. Having that alternative option through middle school is vital to the continutiy of the style of education that we chose to have our children experience. My son is still at Thornton Creek and when it's time for him to graduate I want him to have the same option of attending Salmon Bay as my daughter did. Thank you!
